SCP Facility Experience PC & Console Controls
Every critical bind—especially blink, Night Vision, and SCP special attack—explained for real runs.
Why controls decide who lives
In SCP Facility Experience, raw aim matters less than discipline. SCP-173 punishes teams that blink together. Blackouts punish players who never touch Night Vision. Playable SCPs punish survivors who forget the hunter has a special attack on F / Y. Memorize this page, then reinforce habits in Getting Started and Survive a Containment Breach.

Full controls table
| Action | PC | Console |
|---|---|---|
| Shoot / use items | Click | R2 |
| Reload | R | X |
| Interact | E | X |
| Night Vision / SCRAMBLE | N | D-Pad Up |
| Blink (near SCP-173) | B | L2 |
| SCP special attack | F | Y |
| Close menus | X | B |
Note that Reload and Interact share X on console depending on context—be deliberate about whether you are holding a firearm UI state versus a world interact prompt. On PC, R vs E keeps those intents cleaner.
Shoot, reload, and interact basics
Click / R2 fires or activates the currently equipped usable item. During calm exploration, avoid negligent discharges in crowded hallways—you can startle teammates and waste ammo before a real breach.
Reload (R / X) whenever you break line of contact, not during a 173 stare-down. A dry gun mid-chase against SCP-049-2 style pressure feels awful.
Interact (E / X) opens doors, presses facility buttons, picks up quest items, and drives seasonal props like candy doors in the Halloween event. If nothing happens, check distance, whether a menu is open, or whether another player is already channeling the object.
Night Vision / SCRAMBLE (N / D-Pad Up)
Facility blackouts are first-class events alongside containment breaches. When lights die:
- Stop sprinting into unknown T-junctions.
- Toggle Night Vision / SCRAMBLE with
Nor D-Pad Up. - Move as a group with overlapping flashlight/NV cones if multiple tools exist.
- Call silhouettes early—S-tier threats from the tier list become nastier when vision is contested.
SCRAMBLE-style tools in SCP fiction are often about disrupting cognitohazards or visual threats; in practical Roblox terms, treat this bind as your vision discipline key. If you only remember two binds on day one, remember NV and Blink.
Do not leave NV on forever if the UI or drain mechanics punish it—toggle thoughtfully. When lights return, reassess so you are not staring at washed-out halls while an anomaly flanks.
Blink near SCP-173 (B / L2)
SCP-173 is a statue that moves when unobserved. This experience gives you an explicit blink control:
- PC:
B - Console:
L2
Blink discipline tips
- Stagger blinks. If the whole squad hits blink together, 173 gets a free movement window.
- Call “blinking” before you do it when voice is available.
- Keep at least one looker on 173 at all times while crossing its hallway.
- Do not spam blink out of nerves; timed, announced blinks are safer.
- Re-acquire eye contact immediately after blinking before you loot or reload.
Practice in a controlled sighting before you attempt loot-heavy routes through 173’s favorite corridors. Combine with the survivor threat notes on the SCP Tier List.
SCP special attack (F / Y)
When you play as an SCP—notably SCP-035 or SCP-049-2—F (PC) or Y (console) triggers the kit’s special attack. Tips:
- Use specials on clustered survivors or to finish a chase, not on empty air across the map.
- Combine with flanks during blackouts when humans are NV-tunneling forward.
- Learn recovery time—spam-clicking during endlag wastes pressure.
- Survivors should listen for audio/VFX telegraphs of incoming specials and break line of sight.
Exact damage and cooldowns can change with patches from Yolorex—verify feel in a short SCP round after updates (Updates Hub).
Close menus (X / B)
Nothing is worse than dying inside the codes UI. Close menus with X on PC or B on console when you are done redeeming (How to Redeem) or reading event text. If a panel steals input, mash the close bind once, confirm your weapon/item is ready, then reorient camera.
On console, remember B closes menus while L2 blinks—different intents. Muscle memory mix-ups are common for players coming from other Roblox horror titles.
Device-specific advice
PC
- Rebind only if Roblox/experience settings allow and you document your layout for teammates.
- Keep fingers ready on
B,N, andEduring breach alerts. - Click-drag camera discipline matters when tracking 173 while strafing.
Console
- D-Pad Up for NV can conflict with habit menus on other games—retrain deliberately.
- L2 blink means your left trigger finger is now life-critical near 173.
- Watch for shared
Xcontexts (reload vs interact).
Training routine (10 minutes)
- In a quiet area, toggle NV on/off ten times without moving.
- Practice two announced blinks while a friend watches a doorway.
- Interact with three doors/objects without accidental reloads.
- If SCP-side is available, fire one special (
F/Y) into open space to see VFX timing. - Open and close the codes/menu panel once so close-bind is fresh.
Then run a live loop from Getting Started or a breach drill.
